A Brief Red Sky Cafe History: How We Arrived in Camp Hill, PA

We are all on a personal journey, and it’s up to each one of us to decide how, when, and where to enjoy the ride.

The Red Sky Cafe in Duck, NC opened its doors 15 years ago in 2002. The small cafe grew to become a premier caterer for weddings and corporate events.

To our delight, demand for our southern style cuisine with coastal influences was bigger than our restaurant could handle, so The Red Sky Cafe pioneered the “private chef” for vacationing families and large groups with the creation of “Chefs on Call.”

Tastefully Fit

Fresh Outer Banks seafood is certainly healthy, but some Southern cuisine aspects arent, and as Chef Wes spoke to diners it became clear they were interested in eating healthy without sacrificing flavor. Red Sky Cafe then brought its cutting edge coastal cuisine to the healthier side, with “Tastefully Fit” preparing clean food (as close as it appears in nature), mxing Chef Wes’ passion for taste and fitness.

Grand Opening in Camp Hill

Now with the help of good friends Mike and Katie Kennedy, who have frequented our eatery on the shores of the Outer Banks for years, Red Sky Cafe opened a second location in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

We found a love for the Outer Banks in central PA, and our goal is to bring seafood from the Carolina coast and pair it with the bounties of the farms and countryside of Pennsylvania. Our cafe, catering, chefs on call, and Tastefully Fit, is an effort to bring “a taste of the beach” to some of our biggest supporters in the Keystone State.

As the recipe of fusing the best part of both worlds plays out, I realize the journey – our journey, is the destination. So whether you are on the coasts of Carolina, or in our cozy cafe in Camp Hill, welcome to our journey.
